Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar is a premier institute of North India, providing Value-based, Employment-Oriented quality education to the women-folk.

DAV College Managing Committee is the largest Non-Govt. Organization, entirely dedicated to the cause of education. By adhering to the principles of Arya Samaj, DAV College Managing Committee constantly works for social causes like building up a literate society, ensuring women emancipation, imbibing values and ethics. It is successfully running more than 700 institutions, spread over the entire nation and some foreign countries as well.

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is a premier institution of Higher Education for women folk, operating under the supervision and guidance of a visionary leader Mr. Punam Suri, President, DAVCMC, New Delhi. Mahatma Hans Raj ji, a very dedicated and selfless worker of DAV Movement, laid the foundation of this institution in Lahore in 1927 with the noble mission of bringing much needed literacy among the girls. It was shifted and re-established at Jalandhar in 1948 after partition. Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishanan, himself an enlightened soul, the then Vice President of India inaugurated the present core block of college on 7th Nov., 1959. At present, this is one of the oldest institutions established by DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi with the unique distinction of being re-accredited A grade with 3.83 score out of 4 from NAAC, Bangalore (Highest score in India amongst Women Colleges) and of being recognized by UGC as a “College of Excellence.” The college also has status of Star College conferred by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The long list of the prominent Alumnae of HMV is the most authentic and creditable document, which speaks volumes about the trail of glory achieved steadily by the institution. Its students have left their mark in all fields i.e. Academic, Co-curricular, Cultural and Sports.

This is one of the oldest Institutes initiated by DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi.
